New broadcast series on Jonah starts Monday, Oct 7, 9 pm ET
Dear Friends:
As promised in last week's Facebook Live broadcast (Monday, Sept 30, Feast of St. Jerome, patron saint of Biblical studies), I will be launching a new series of weekly Facebook Live broadcasts on the short (four chapters) Old Testament book of Jonah starting Monday, October 7, at 9 pm ET, and continuing each Monday evening at that same time (God willing).
The two weekly series I had started long ago -- the Old Testament one on Genesis, and the New Testament one on the Gospel of St. Mark -- which had to be interrupted due to my wife's illness with Stage 4 cancer, culminating in her death earlier this year (March 24, Feast of St. Gabriel the Archangel) -- will resume next month (November), after the 4-part series on Jonah concludes. Each one will be on a different weeknight, one of them probably on Fridays and one on Sunday evenings.
Other weekly series that I've been hard at work crafting for about a year now -- on apologetics ("Riding the Train of Truth All the Way to the End of the Line"), church history, philosophy, and theology -- will debut in a staggered fashion on different evenings of the week over the fall months.
Please allow me to remind you that you do NOT need to have a Facebook account to watch any of these broadcast series. If you are reading these words, you obviously have either a smartphone, a tablet, or a computer (desktop or laptop) and Internet access (even if you're only using a family member's or friend's, or one at the local library). Simply aim your device's web browser at www.facebook.com/biblicalfoundationsinternational, and you'll be taken to the page (Biblical Foundations Institute) where many of my Bible study broadcasts appear.
Allow me also to remind you that while these broadcasts are absolutely free to you, the viewer, they do take me many, many hours each week to research and prepare, and this is not possible without your generous support.
As always, you can send donations by either a) PayPal (using the "Make a Donation" button on this website), or b) calling me at (570) 969-1724 and using MasterCard or Visa, or c) mailing a check or money order to me at: Gerry Matatics, 900 Sunset St, Scranton PA 18509.
Many thanks for your thoughtful and indispensable support, without which I cannot continue the vital work of this full-time apostolate. May Almighty God richly reward you!
For Christ the King,
Gerry Matatics
