GUEST STAYED EXTRA DAY, GUÉRANGER PUSHED FORWARD TO TOMORROW (TUES)
Dear Friends:
First of all, Happy Easter! Let’s all remember that Easter isn’t over just because Easter Sunday was yesterday: just as Christmastide is a 40-day liturgical season, as is Lent (which is 46 days if you add the six interspersed Sundays), so Easter (the chief feast of the year) is actually a glorious and joyous 50-day season, only ended by Pentecost Sunday (the latter then initiating the next liturgical season, Whitsuntide, which extends until the liturgical year ends, and then the church year begins all over again with the First Sunday of Advent on December 2).
Second, though I was initially under the impression that our out-of-state Easter-weekend guest was returning home yesterday (Sunday night), I found out he actually doesn’t fly home until tonight, hence tonight’s broadcast on last week’s (Holy Week) readings in Dom Guéranger’s “Liturgical Year” is unfortunately pushed forward until tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
Also, due to a previous engagement tomorrow night at 9 pm, tomorrow’s night’s broadcast will need to be an hour earlier — at 8 pm Eastern, not 9 pm. I apologize if this invconveniences anyone. Of course you are free to watch it at 9 pm or any time that best suits your schedule.
Christ is Risen!
Yours in our Risen and Reigning Redeemer and King,
Gerry Matatics
