Biblical Teaching on End-Times Infiltration of the Church
Dear Friends:
Sensible people are rightly skeptical of extreme and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. But Trojan Horse tactics, coups d’état, hostile takeovers, and revolutions are as old as human history. So what should an intelligent, informed person responsibly believe on this subject when it relates to current goings-on in Catholicism?
This Thursday, May 14, 2015 -- the Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ's Ascension -- at 7:30 pm, God willing, I will be giving a new talk in the Washington DC area (an area I haven’t spoken in for the past six years) entitled "What Scripture Says About the End-Times Infiltration of the Church: An In-depth Look at the Letter of St. Jude and Related Scriptures.”
A free-wheeling Q & A/discussion & debate session will follow the talk, for those who wish to stay. People can ask (or argue) about anything (not just the topic of the talk): Is religious truth knowable with certainty? Why believe in God? Why is Christianity the correct theistic faith, rather than Judaism or Islam? Why is Catholicism the correct Christian Faith, rather than Eastern Orthodoxy or Protestantism? What’s right and wrong about the Catholic “traditionalist” movement? And why have I taken the extremely unpopular — among “traditional Catholics” — and financially disastrous position I have taken with regard to the “unauthorized shepherds” of the SSPX, SSPV, CMRI, et al (though I did so because I believe it to be, and am only too glad to demonstrate it to be, the only position consistent with Catholic principles)?
As always, people of all faiths (or none) are warmly welcome. You don’t need to agree with me to enjoy, and benefit from, the evening’s discussion.
The talk is being given in the Fox Mill Room of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport, 13460 Sunrise Valley Dr, Herndon VA 20171. If traveling east (i.e., coming from the direction of Dulles airport) on the Dulles Access/Toll Rd (Rt 267), take exit 10 (the Herndon/Chantilly exit), turn right at the light onto Centerville Rd, then right onto Sunrise Valley Drive, and the hotel is 1/2 mile on the right. If traveling west on 267 (i.e., coming from the direction of the DC beltway), take exit 10 & turn left onto Centerville Rd, then right onto Sunrise Valley. The hotel phone is (703) 793-1700.
If you yourself don’t live in the DC area, but know someone who does who might be interested in attending, please call them or send them an email with a link to this webpage. Anyone wishing to attend the talk, however, MUST call, not the hotel, but me, IMMEDIATELY, at (570) 969-1724 — or (better yet) email me at gerrymatatics@gerrymatatics.org — and provide their name, phone number, and the number of people interested in attending.
Seating is EXTREMELY limited for this exclusive, one-time event. If too many people pre-register we may need to relocate to a larger venue at the last minute. If insufficient numbers pre-register I may have to reschedule the talk to a future date, and quite possibly another city. Either way, I need your phone number and/or email address so I can contact you no later than Thursday morning if there’s any change in plans!
The talk is FREE, but a voluntary donation is suggested to help defray cost of my travel expenses: $10 per person, $15 per couple, $20 for entire family. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, however!
If you haven’t donated to Biblical Foundations International recently, would you please prayerfully consider giving some much-needed and much-appreciated alms right now to help me fund this trip and lecture? We could desperately use several donations of $100 or more. (It cost me $600 just to print and mail out the over 600 fliers I sent over the past three weeks to everyone on my mailing list who lives within an hour’s drive or so of the talk's venue, for example.) But a donation of any amount will enable this full-time apostolate to keep operating and moving forward with new trips, talks, CDs, and other projects -- including launching our new multimedia website and our daily BlogTalkRadio call-in show.
As my recently-paid taxes once again confirmed for the umpteenth year in a row, Biblical Foundations is still severely underfunded and operating on a shoestring budget, and with nine children we are still living below the poverty level. But if I were doing this to make money, I would have quit long, long ago.
1) The quickest, easiest way to donate is to go to any page on my website (including this one) and click on the gold-colored “Make a Donation” button in the upper right area of the page to use PayPal to make a donation.
2) Or you can call me at (570) 969-1724 to use your Discover, Visa, or MasterCard to make a donation. If you get my voicemail because I’m away from my desk, just leave on the recording your credit card information (your name exactly as it appears on the card, your billing address, the 16-digit card number and expiration date, and the 3-digit security code on the back of the card) and the amount you wish to donate.
3) A third option is to make out a check or money order, payable to either “Gerry Matatics” or “Biblical Foundations International,” and mail it to me at PO Box 569, Dunmore PA 18512.
All those donating $25 or more will receive a free copy of the CD recording of the talk I’m giving this Thursday (God willing) on “Biblical Teaching on End-Times Infiltration of the Church.” As always, the loyal handful of folks (alas, all too few) who already regularly donate on a monthly basis don’t need to specifically request a copy of the CD, but will automatically receive one in the mail as soon as it’s produced.
Thank you for your generous and sacrificial support of this adventurous but astoundingly under-appreciated apostolate. We continue to operate — as we have for quite some time now — on a huge deficit. That is to say, Biblical Foundations International’s modest monthly expenses far outstrip its even more modest monthly income of sales and donations.
But we feel strongly that God wants us to continue to testify to "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" regarding the true nature of the crisis currently afflicting the Catholic Church and (as a consequence) the world during these exciting end-times — a crisis our benevolent God explicitly warned us about in Sacred Scripture, though the warning largely went unheeded.
We remember all our donors and their loved ones, living and deceased, in our daily rosaries and other prayers. May Almighty God grant you and all your loved ones many graces during this continuing Eastertide -- and especially on the Feast of Our Lord's Ascension this Thursday -- and over the long-term future may He bless you and yours with long life, good health, good marriages (for those called to the married life), healthy relationships with family and friends, much love and happiness, career satisfaction and success, financial provision and peace of mind, and all the graces necessary to know and do His holy will.
Yours in Christ our risen King and Mary our rejoicing Queen Mother,
Yours in Christ our risen King and Mary our rejoicing Queen Mother,
Gerry Matatics
