CHRISTMASTIDE & NEW YEAR WISHES
(Updated January 11, 2016)
Please forgive me for not having yet posted here the "important announcement" I'd hoped would appear here a few days ago.
As my donors know, each year I send out a handwritten Christmas card and letter to anyone who sends me any donation, large or small, monthly or one-time. Because of my week-long fundraising trip to California from December 13 to 20 (more on that in my forthcoming announcement) and the enormous, two-months-long preparations necessary for that trip (also to be explained), I was not able to begin my Christmas cards this year until after my return on December 20.
As a result, though I had successfullly written and mailed 50% of my cards by December 25 and 90% by now, as of today (Monday, January 11) I still have several to go — prompting me to reiterate my annual reminder that Christmastide is a 40-day liturgical season that merely begins on the Feast of Our Lord's Nativity on December 25 and lasts until the Feast of Our Lady's Purification on February 2. :)
My previously-posted expectation that I'd be done by yesterday (Sunday, January 10, Feast of the Holy Family) is thwarted by the fact that I still have an estimated 25 or so Christmas cards yet to do. As during the past week I've been averaging — on top of my other daily duties (filling orders, answering e-mails, etc.) — only about 10-12 Christmas cards a day, I therefore should be done by Wednesday night or Thursday. By Friday, then, I hopefully will have written and posted the important announcement I had hoped would have already appeared by now. I deeply appreciate everyone's understanding and patience.
In the meantime, allow me to again express my best wishes to everyone reading this (especially our donors and customers) for a blessed and glorious Christmastide, and a grace-filled and Happy, holy New Year.
In Christ our incarnate King & Mary our joyful Queen Mother,
Gerry Matatics
