Exposing Lawlessness in Church and State: The Megatour Continues (May 14-27)

Exposing Lawlessness in Church and State: The Megatour Continues (May 14-27)

Once again I must apologize for not having updated my website for a few weeks. Unfortunately, the planning and preparation for this next upcoming segment of my multi-year, 300-city, cross-country megatour has been unusually difficult, and has consumed nearly all my free time for these past few weeks.

From May 14 to May 27 I will be driving to and speaking at thirteen events in eleven cities in seven states: Pittsburgh PA, Grand Rapids MI, South Bend IN, Chicago IL, Milwaukee WI, Green Bay WI, Stillwater MN, Eau Claire WI, Rockford IL, and Springfield IL. To these ten cities, God willing, I hope to add an eleventh stop (here at the eleventh hour!) on my way home on May 27 – either in Cincinnati or Columbus OH – to engage in a public (or at least private) debate with one of two internationally-known Catholic figures. (Check back here next week for full details on that proposed encounter, still being planned.)

Unlike that last stop which is still in the works, the previous ten stops have long been finalised and are currently being advertised (see below).

In Grand Rapids I will be having a three-hour public debate on the red-hot topic of where Catholics can lawfully attend Mass these days. In South Bend, I will not only be participating in the nationally-publicized pro-life protest at Obama’s graduation speech at the University of Notre Dame, but will also (the next day) finally give a brand-new, 2009 version of my all-day, six-talk seminar entitled “Wake Up, America!” which I hadn’t updated or even given for the previous nine years.

In seven cities I will be giving a completely revamped version of my standard megatour stump speech. Formerly titled “Counterfeit Catholicism,” the talk has been completely rewritten for the Obama era and retitled “Real Hope for the Future.” (The title, needless to say, does not refer to Mr. Obama’s agenda for America.) Previous versions of the talk had begun with an analysis of the Vatican II revolution and the consequent crisis in contemporary Catholicism – something, regrettably, that tragically few people seem to care about, though it’s at the root of all our more worldly woes.

The new version of the talk now begins with where most people’s concerns are (unfortunately) primarily focused: the economic crisis, the political crisis here at home and abroad, the swine flu, etc. The talk then proceeds to explain how these crises would not be plaguing us if there were not, underlying them, a far more important spiritual crisis, our indifference to which has provoked these other chastisements.

I am very eager to give this new version of the talk because the more I have continued my research and reflection on our present, unprecedented predicament, the more I am convinced that we are being ravaged by an epidemic of lawlessness, not just in the secular realm, but in the spiritual realm as well – and in the latter case, not just by “liberals,” but also by the so-called “traditionalist movement.”

The Church age, the era of the New Covenant, began with usurpers in both church and state – men who had seized power and office in defiance of the prescriptions of God’s law. As it began, so it will end.

In the state, Herod, the “King of the Jews” at the time of our Lord’s birth, and therefore his son and grandson successors (Herod Agrippa, Herod Agrippa II), were not only not descended from David, as God’s covenant required – they weren’t even Jews! (Herod and the Herodian dynasty were Idumeans, descended from Esau, not Jacob.)

In the church, Annas and Caiaphas and the entire lineage of Hasmonean high priests – the high priest being the equivalent of “pope” of the Old Covenant church – were not descended from Zadok, and therefore illicitly occupied the chair. (The oft-heard remark that, despite this, Our Lord in His passion, and St. John in John 11:49-51, nevertheless acknowledged the authority of Caiaphas betrays an ignorance of Our Lord’s outlook as well of St. John’s rhetorical use of irony – a dominant motif of his Gospel.)

The circle-closing symmetry of Church history led the Fathers and Doctors of the Church to expect a similar scenario in the final days before our Lord’s return. They would not be surprised to witness what we are witnessing – in the state, the replacement of Catholic monarchies by Masonic republics over the last three centuries, and in the Church, the legally invalid occupation of offices by men utterly unqualified to occupy them, due to their public defection from the integral Catholic Faith (as canon 188.4 in the 1917 Code of Canon Law clearly decrees).

We, however, are surprised, shocked, and scandalized, because we do not, for the most part, allow the Fathers and Doctors to mold our thinking and our every attitude. After all, their horror of heresy and their old-fashioned ideas about: the intransigence of dogma; Biblical inerrancy; the distinctive role of women in church, home, and society; the necessity of science conforming to the teaching of Sacred Scripture; the diabolical nature of other religions and the utter impossibility of salvation outside the Church; the “insanity” of religious liberty; the Christ-denying character of ecumenism, etc., are deemed so hopelessly out of date, so “pre-Vatican II,” that their "outmoded outlook" was largely put into mothballs and stuck in the ideological equivalent of Grandma’s attic by the bold, fresh aggiornamento perpetrated by that world-blighting robber council and its occult agenda to literally let all hell break loose upon the earth.

The era of the great apostasy is the era of “the man of lawlessness” (anomia, in the Greek; see 2 Thessalonians 2:3) in both church and state. Like the ancient Israelites in the times of the Judges, "because there [is] no king in the land, every man [does] that which is right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6; 18:1; 19:1; 21:24). By ”no king" today I mean, in the state, no Catholic monarch upholding the law of God and no realm known as Christendom in which that law is even acknowledged as supreme. And in the church, no pope preaching what Peter preached, e.g., in Acts 2 and Acts 4: the social kingship of Christ, whom every man is obliged to accept as Lord and Savior, and outside of whose Church there is no salvation.

How can Catholics be credible in condemning the violation of God’s law in our national life (the promotion of abortion, sodomy, usury, unjust war, etc.) when these same Catholics flaunt the requirements of God’s law in their own ecclesiastical antics? In terms eerily reminiscent of the misdeeds of Micah in Judges 17, men set up their own chapels and manufacture their own priests and bishops to man them, making a mockery of the divine authorization necessary for the lawful carrying out of the Church’s mission, making a shambles of the Church’s four marks of unity, holiness, catholicity, and apostolicity.

The result is chaos and corruption, the incessant squabbling of the multitudinous and mutually-anathematizing sects of the self-appointed “traditionalist” clergy, inevitably producing the same sacrileges, the same sexual scandals, the same civil wars (spiritually speaking), the same abductions, injustices, and outrages that permeate the pages of the closing chapters of the book of Judges.

If you wish to hear more about these matters and you live in the path of my May itinerary, please come out to whichever event is in your area. If not, please consider ordering the recordings, which will be added to our online store (www.gerrymatatics.org/shop) once I’ve returned home. Return, too, to this website for future essays further developing these themes; I’ll try, with God’s help, to upload a new article each week, and I ask your forgiveness for my past lapses.

Here are the details of my May 14-27 itinerary. Please pray for my safety and spiritual success on this trip, and for God to watch over the rest of my precious family in my absence. (I say “the rest of my family” because, as always, I will have one or two of my children with me on this road trip.) I hope to see some of you in the coming days! May Almighty God bless you with wisdom, light, courage, and hope for the future as we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven and the triumph of our Lady’s Immaculate Heart.
